Security Reports and Incident Logs

Ashland Community and Technical College complies with federal and state laws regarding higher education safety and security.

The Jeanne Clery Act

The Jeanne Clery Act, a consumer protection law passed in 1990, requires all colleges and universities who receive federal funding to share information about crime on campus and their efforts to improve campus safety as well as inform the public of crime in or around campus. This information is made publicly accessible through the college's annual security report.

Incident Logs

In accordance with Higher Education Safety and Security laws currently in effect, ACTC maintains security logs related to campus crime and statistics. The college also maintains a separate Incident Log including accidents, and petty crimes not required to be reported by the Minger Act. Michael Minger Act

The Michael Minger Act is a Kentucky state law that requires public colleges and universities as well as private institutions licensed by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE) to report campus crimes to their employees, students, and the public on a timely basis.
