ACTC Radiography program acquires new x-ray machine to enhance student learning
Published on Jan 30, 2025
Ashland Community and Technical College (ACTC) is proud to announce the acquisition of a state-of-the-art, digital x-ray machine for its radiography program. The equipment, secured through college funding, advances the program’s commitment to providing students with the highest quality education and training.
This update to the program introduces students to digital imaging technology that offers enhanced opportunities for hands-on learning.
“This new x-ray machine features advanced digital imaging capabilities, allowing students to practice a wider range of exams than before,” said Suzanne Stephens, ACTC Radiography program coordinator. “The room is highly automated and ergonomic, putting the students’ safety front and center. Additionally, its integrated radiation dose monitoring system teaches students the importance of optimizing patient safety while ensuring diagnostic accuracy.”
With healthcare technology evolving rapidly, this new machine will properly prepare students for clinical environments.
Stephens said that students will be able to gain experience on a machine that is either of equal or higher quality than those in local facilities, which will help increase their skill set and marketability.
“Seeing the students get as excited as myself at all the bells and whistles of the new equipment has been a good motivator for us to remember to strive for our best every day,” said Stephens. “We are proud to train the future generation of healthcare imaging professionals at ACTC!”
