Over $325,000 in scholarships provided by donors to ACTC for 2025-2026

The majority of ACTC students rely heavily, if not entirely, on financial aid. Investing in an existing
scholarship fund or creating your own scholarship allows you to make a direct and meaningful impact on
the lives of students.

Scholarships can also be created to honor the legacy of a loved one or leave a legacy that reflects your values. Scholarships can be customized to support students from a specified region or program of study.

Gifts of any amount can be made to existing scholarship funds by making an online donation here.

Donors can make scholarship gifts to assist students with the costs of their education or create
endowed scholarships to provide permanent funds for students in the future. The estimated annual cost
to attend ACTC includes in-state tuition and fees of $4,536 and average book and supply costs of $1,268.
Students may work fewer hours to balance their academic priorities, which can result in less
funding available for childcare, transportation, housing, and other household costs. Your gift helps
students keep their focus on their education rather than financial circumstances.

A student’s success in college is often dependent on a variety of circumstances, many of which may be outside their direct control. Medical challenges, employment changes, childcare needs, and financial emergencies can impact whether a student stays on track to achieve their goals. Our Student Emergency Fund gives students a way to solve the problems that stand in the way of their continued education.

The ACTC Student Emergency Fund supports student success by removing obstacles resulting from an unforeseen financial emergency that, without assistance, would prevent a student from continuing their education at ACTC. The Student Emergency Fund is funded entirely through generous support of individuals, grants, and corporate donations.

For every $1 invested in ACTC, society gains $12.40 in added state revenue and social savings.

ACTC has been nationally recognized as an innovative and entrepreneurial college, but it takes resources
to establish new programs and services. Your gift to the Greatest Needs fund gives ACTC the flexibility to
have the greatest impact possible as we respond to changing workforce and student needs. Your
donations will support the college’s most urgent needs for equipment, program development, special
projects, technology, faculty and staff support, and more.

Want to support ACTC in a different way? We are happy to learn more about your
interests and match them to the college’s needs. Past donor support has helped ACTC to:

Stories of Impact - Adam Davis

Adam Davis

For Adam C. Davis, earning a college degree is about much more than achieving a personal goal-it is about turning his past into something meaningful and using his experiences to help others find hope and healing.

Adam is pursuing a degree in Social Work at Ashland Community & Technical College and expects to graduate in December. An ACTC scholarship is helping provide the financial support he needs to stay focused on his education and prepare for a career dedicated to serving others.

"My 'why' for going to college is to turn my past into something meaningful," Adam shared. "I believe it's never too late to grow, and I want to challenge myself to become the best person I can be."

After ACTC, Adam plans to transfer to the University of the Cumberlands to earn his Bachelor of Social Work, followed by a Master of Social Work and eventually a ministry degree. His vision is to combine professional social work and ministry to serve individuals and families facing addiction, trauma, and other challenges.

Adam's journey is deeply rooted in his family and faith. His fiancée is also an ACTC Social Work student, and the couple is preparing to begin a new chapter together. Their 7-year-old daughter is a source of joy and inspiration. Adam also credits his mother, sister, stepfather and nephew, for the love, support, resilience, and encouragement they have provided throughout his life.

His relationship with his sister holds a particularly meaningful place in his story. After facing addiction together, Adam and Marsha now celebrate more than 3 years of sobriety-another reminder of the transformation that can come through perseverance, support, and hope.

Above all, Adam credits his faith in Jesus Christ for changing the direction of his life. "His grace has changed my life, and I thank Him every day for the family He has blessed me with," Adam said.

As he looks toward his future, Adam hopes to leave a legacy defined not simply by what he accomplishes, but by how he serves and loves others. His advice to his younger self-and perhaps to anyone working through their own challenges-is simple: slow down, cherish the people who matter, make every moment count, and build a legacy of serving others.

For Adam, his education represents a 2nd chance to grow, a pathway to serve his community, and an opportunity to turn his experiences into something that can make a difference in the lives of others.

With the support of ACTC donors, Adam is turning his past into purpose-and his dreams of serving others into a future.

Stories of Impact - Brandi Robertson

Brandi Robertson

For Brandi Robertson, returning to college was more than simply continuing her education-it was an opportunity to pursue a dream she had put on hold and create a brighter future for herself and her family.

At 39 years old, Brandi is pursuing her degree in the MIT program at Ashland Community & Technical College and plans to graduate in May 2027. As a wife and mother of two, including a nine-year-old daughter and a 22-month-old son, she balances the responsibilities of family life with the demands of being a college student.

"My 'why' is my family, but it is also myself," Brandi shared. "I put college on hold about 15 years ago, and for a long time, I thought that chapter of my life was over. Returning to school at 39 has shown me that it is never too late to chase a goal or make a new beginning."

Brandi hopes to build a career in the healthcare field where she can use the knowledge and skills she gains at ACTC to make a positive difference in the lives of others. She also hopes to continue her education as future opportunities arise. Scholarship support would make a tremendous difference as she works toward achieving those goals. Assistance with tuition, books, and supplies would help ease the financial pressures of returning to college while supporting a family. "More importantly," Brandi said, "it would remind me that the hard work I am putting into reaching this goal is supported and valued."

Brandi's family has been a constant source of encouragement throughout her journey. Her husband and children celebrate the victories-both big and small- and continue to motivate her to keep moving forward. "I hope that my children will look back one day and see that their mom never gave up on her goals, even when life took her in a different direction," she said. "They are my biggest motivation and one of the greatest blessings in my life."

When asked what advice she would give her younger self, Brandi's response reflects the determination that has brought her back to the classroom: believe in yourself, don't be afraid to take a different path, and never give up simply because life doesn't happen according to plan.

Today, Brandi is proving to herself-and to her children-that it is never too late to pursue a dream. Through determination, hard work, and the support of her family and community, she is building a future she can be proud of while setting a powerful example for the next generation.

Deedra is on the road to success in pursuing an Associate degree in Early Childhood and expects to graduate in 2030. With the support of the Susan Wilson Memorial Scholarship, she is working toward earning her degree and preparing for a career doing what she loves- educating and inspiring young children.

"My 'why' for going to college is to get my degree to follow my dreams to become a great teacher," Deedra shared.
Her family has been an important source of encouragement along the way. She describes them as "cool, fun, and loving people" who support her future and encourage her to pursue her dreams.

After graduating from ACTC, Deedra plans to fulfill her dream of becoming an early childhood educator. She understands that success does not happen overnight and offers this advice to others who may be working toward their own goals:

"Being successful in life takes a while, but as long as you follow your goals and dreams, everything will be okay."

Through the generosity of scholarship donors, students like Deedra are able to take meaningful steps toward their futures- turning their educational goals and lifelong dreams into reality.
