Growing up in the Ashland area, I know how important ACTC is to our community. Being second generation alumni myself and having my son currently enrolled, ACTC continues to be a major part of my life and my family’s lives. Graduating ACTC in 2005 immediately following high school, my major was Business Administration. Working in a couple of accounting roles, I decided to return in 2008 to further my education. In 2008 I was also a single parent. So, I have first-hand experience at being both a traditional and a non-traditional student at ACTC. In February 2009 I started as a Work-Study in the Office of Financial Aid and found a passion for helping others achieve their higher education goals. After a few months I was able to fill a position full-time within the office, where I worked as a Financial Aid Specialist for the next eight years. During that time, I got married and earned a bachelor’s degree from Morehead State University, in Business Administration. This past summer celebrated my fifth year as an Academic Advisor, the Morehead State University Liaison, and the Holy Family Collegiate Advisor, with 13 years of experience at ACTC. My personal experiences motivate me daily, to help ACTC continue to grow and prosper our community.
