 Wine Jewels & More

We hosted our annual  Wine, Jewels, and More event on Tuesday, January 21, raising $30,754 to benefit student scholarships.

The event, now in its sixth year, honors the legacy of Norma Meek, a dedicated leader in our community who founded the event. Proceeds from the event support scholarships for students at ACTC.

Held at Bellefonte Country Club, the 2025 event drew 131 attendees and featured wine, friends and a silent auction with jewelry, purses, and more.

The 2026 event is scheduled for January 20th.

KCTCS Giving Day

On April 16 , ACTC participated alongside the other 15 colleges in the 24-hour Giving Day event. We raised a total of $5,036.00 from 83 donors across 16 states.

Donations received will support the college’s greatest needs, including scholarships, the food pantry, Phi Theta Kappa, and essential resources that empower students to succeed.

Retiree Luncheon

On June 2nd, we hosted our inaugural Retiree Luncheon—and what a memorable event it was!

We were thrilled to welcome 23 of our amazing retirees for an afternoon filled with laughter, reminiscing, and well-deserved recognition.

As part of the festivities, attendees voted on winners for five special retiree awards, each honoring the unique spirit and contributions of our former colleagues:

The luncheon was a heartwarming celebration of the impact these individuals made during their time with us. It was a chance to reconnect, relive great memories, and recognize the lasting contributions of our retirees.

Here’s to many more retiree events in the future!

August is Make a Will Month

Have you made your will?

Creating a will is one of the most important steps you can take to protect your loved ones and ensure your legacy lives on. August is Make a Will Month, and there's no better time to take action—whether you're starting from scratch or reviewing an existing plan. A will doesn’t just outline your wishes; it gives you peace of mind knowing that the people and causes you care about most will be honored according to your intentions.

Why It Matters:

Leave a Legacy That Changes Lives

By including our Foundation in your will, you help make education accessible to generations of students. Your legacy becomes part of their future. Even a small percentage of your estate can make a lasting impact through scholarships, emergency support, and essential student programs.

Not Sure Where to Start?

We’re here to help. Several of our Foundation board members are experienced professionals in estate and financial planning. If you’re considering drafting or updating your will and have questions, we’d be happy to connect you with a trusted expert.

Ready to take the next step?

Contact us at AS_Foundation@kctcs.edu and we’ll help guide you in the right direction—confidentially and with no pressure.

Reflections from the President

At Ashland Community and Technical College, we continue to be inspired by the generosity, dedication, and support shown by our community. The inaugural edition of Foundation Footprints is a powerful reminder of how much we can accomplish when we come together in service of our students.

From the incredible success of  Wine, Jewels, and More to the deeply moving Pathfinder Luncheon, these events reflect the spirit of giving that defines our college family. Our first ever Retiree Luncheon was another joyful milestone, celebrating the wisdom and lifelong contributions of our former faculty and staff.

We also participated in KCTCS Giving Day alongside all 15 sister colleges, raising more than $5,000 from donors across 16 states. These funds directly support scholarships, Phi Theta Kappa, the food pantry, and other essential student needs.

Looking ahead, I invite you to join us for the 12th Annual ACTC Golf Scramble this September. With nearly $250,000 raised through this event over the years, it continues to be a driving force for student success, and a wonderful way to connect and give back.

Additionally, new scholarships and endowments ensure that our students have the support they need to thrive. To everyone who has contributed to our mission, thank you for making a difference. Together, we are building futures. One student, one scholarship, one life-changing opportunity at a time.

With gratitude,
Dr. Larry Ferguson
