Measuring Our Success
February 15, 2017
This month, we collected information on the 2015-2016 academic year to share with our legislators, and I want to share some of that information with you.
We served more than 2,775 students, including 1,537 full-time, 1,238 part-time and 375 dual credit students.
Students earned 1,719 degrees, diplomas and credentials, including 353 degrees, 152 diplomas and 1,214 certificates.
Workforce Solutions served 180 companies and 4,868 individuals, giving 1,363 assessments, and providing 110 workforce classes for 1,946 individuals.
Services to former AK Steel workers included 300+ workforce ready tests and several advising sessions. Of those workers, 220 registered in fall 2016, 16 graduated in December, and 208 are registered this spring.
Over 1,000 youth participated in First LEGO, Science Fair and Skills USA competitions, summer camps and the Young Women LEAD program.
As a community and technical college, we help credit-seeking students prepare for a career or for transfer to a four-year institution. We help employees and job seekers upgrade skills for the future. We offer programs and activities to help youth prepare for post-secondary education. These numbers are one way of measuring our success.
