Spring semester begins Jan. 13

Dec. 30 is the application deadline to apply for the spring 2020 semester and first spring bi-term classes.

The first day of classes is Jan. 13.

For the full semester, some general online classes available are:

Sciences: Frontiers of Astronomy, Intro to Biology, Human Ecology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Earth’s Physical Environment, Lands/Peoples of the Non-Western World, Regional Geography of the World, General Psychology, Developmental Psychology.

Math: College Algebra, College Algebra Workshop, Applied Mathematics, Technical Algebra and Trigonometry, Contemporary College Math, Calculus.

History/Political Science: History of the U.S. through 1865, History of the U.S. Since 1865, American Government.

English/Communications: Intro to Communication, Basic Public Speaking, Intro to Interpersonal Communication, Writing I and II, Intro to Literature,

Business: Intro to Business, Intro to Financial Management, Principles of Marketing.

Computers: Intro to Computers, Computer Hardware and Software.

Art/Humanities: Cultural Diversity in the Modern World, Intro to Art, Intro to Humanities, Intro to Music, Ethics, Intro to Sociology.

General education classes offered in person at the College Drive Campus include:

Sciences: Frontiers of Astronomy, Intro to Biology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Applied Physics, General Psychology, Developmental Psychology.

Math: College Algebra, College Algebra Workshop, Applied Mathematics, Technical Algebra and Trigonometry, Contemporary College Math.

English/Communications: Basic Public Speaking, Intro to Interpersonal Communication,
English Workshop, Writing I and II, Strategies for College Success.

Art/Humanities: Intro to art, Drawing I and II and Painting I and II, Appalachian Studies, Ethics, Intro to Sociology, Modern Social Problems, Intro the Theater.

History/Political Science: History of Europe Post-17th Century, History of the U.S. through 1865, History of the U.S. Since 1865.

General education classes offered in person at the Technology Drive Campus include: Managerial Accounting, Writing I, English Workshop, History of the U.S. Since 1865, Technical Algebra and Trigonometry, Business Mathematics.

While full semester classes run through May 10, bi-term classes are eight-weeks long, half the length of traditional semester classes but with the same content as semester-long classes.

Students can take up to seven credit hours of classes in general education subjects required for associate degrees and diplomas, as well as specialized courses in technical programs.
