Apply for Bi-Term Classes by October 5
Ashland Community and Technical College is accepting applications for fall bi-term classes that start October 19. Bi-term classes are eight-weeks long, half the length of traditional semester classes. They have the same content as semester-long classes, but cover the content in a shorter time.
Bi-term classes offer a second chance for new students who want to start classes this fall. Bi-term classes also offer current students the chance to add a class to their schedule. This can be particularly useful to part-time students who started with one or two classes and are ready to add one more.
Students can take up to seven credit hours of classes in general education subjects appropriate for most new students. Many of the classes are offered online.
Online general education courses include Intro to Art, Introduction to Biology, Intro to Interpersonal Communication, Writing I, Writing II, History of the US through 1865, Intro to the Humanities, General Psychology and Intro to Sociology. Also online are Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Modern Social Problems, Computer Routing amp; Switching Essentials, Basic Algebra and Intermediate Algebra.
Computer Aided Drafting amp; Design (CADD) and Electrical Technology (ET) courses are offered at the Technology Drive Campus. CADD courses are Engineering Graphics, Intermediated Computer Aided Drafting, Construction Techniques and Working Drawings. ET courses are available in Rotating Machinery, Rotating Machinery Lab, Electrical Motor Controls II, Electrical Motor Control II Lab and Circuits II.
The bi-term application deadline is October 5. Admissions forms and information are online at: ashland.kctcs.edu/admissions. Bi-term class information is online at: ashland.kctcs.edu/bi-term.
