ACTC to host free playwrights showcase

    ACTC will host a Playwrights Showcase at noon on Monday, Dec. 3 in the J.B. Sowards Theatre on the College Drive Campus. The event is free and open to the public; no ticket is required.
    The program will feature 10 monologues, short scenes and poetry written by English 207 playwriting students as well as English 101 and 102 students.
    “It's an informal gathering, similar to the Arts and Sciences Seminar Series, that is designed to be a showcase for our talented humanities students,” said Jonathan Joy, associate professor of English. “In a way it is quite similar to what we've done the past five years with the New Play Festival, though decidedly more laid back.”
