Scholarship opportunity available for community service-minded students
June 11, 2018
Incoming Ashland Community and Technical College freshmen still have time to
apply for a scholarship to pay for their first semester’s tuition.
The Rick Ritchason Memorial Scholarship was created by Build Ashland to honor
one of the nonprofit’s members, who died earlier this year, and his commitment to
community service.
To be eligible for the scholarship, the student must be a resident of Boyd or
Greenup County, be active in community service, have a GPA of at least 2.5 and plan
to attend ACTC.
In addition to the scholarship application, which can be found on Build Ashland’s
website, applicants are also required to submit a typed essay or video documenting
their community service involvement.
The deadline to apply is Aug. 1 and the application can be found at buildashland.org.
