June 3, 2018

Ashland Community and Technical College is still accepting applicants into its newest program — Advanced Integrated Technology — which will support employment at Braidy Industries.
Fall semester classes begin on Aug. 13 and the last day to submit an admission application is July 30.
The AIT program is a four-semester program with a total of 60 credit hours and is a program of study that employs the principles of manufacturing and technology integration. Topics that will be covered will include robotics, programmable logic controller (PLC) programming, drive configuration, electrical motor controls, hydraulics and pneumatics, mechanical drive systems, critical thinking and communication.
During the first semester, students can expect to take 15 hours of courses including general education courses, technical core requirements and electives. The semester plan includes Writing I, Technical Algebra and Trigonometry, Applied Physics, Power Generation and Utilization and Workplace Safety.
There are also additional general education requirements of history and social behavioral science. Students must also meet ACTC’s college readiness benchmarks in reading, writing and math to enter the program specific classes.
Within the AIT program, four-week internship periods will be required.
Those interested in enrolling in the AIT program must first apply to ACTC either online at Ashland.KCTCS.edu or by visiting either the College Drive or Technology Drive campuses. For more information, call the Admissions Office at 606-326-2000.
