"The Book as Art" Program April 25

Joe Napora, ACTC English Professor, will give a short presentation on Book Art and the Art of the Book Thursday, April 25, at noon in the College Drive Campus Library.

He will talk about handcrafted books that can include hand set type, handmade covers and binding, and illustrations. Although electronic media threaten to make books obsolete, there are still artists and writers who carry on the tradition of making a book a work of art, Napora said. He will bring some handcrafted books that show different artistic elements.

The program is free and open to the public.
