Stepping Stones Program Seeks Wigs

The Cosmetology Program at Ashland Community and Technical College is seeking wig donations to help people who have suffered hair loss through chemotherapy or other treatments. The Cosmetology Stepping Stones project involves collecting wigs from the community and cleaning, styling and coloring the wigs for clients who need this service, but cannot afford it, said Cosmetology Coordinator Belinda Bradley.

Over the past several years, the program has supplied hundreds of wigs to those in need, and supplies are low. Wigs of any style or color are accepted. We would like the start the new year next year with a full supply of wigs, Bradley said. Cosmetology students clean and style the wigs to fit each clients needs.
