Professional Cake Decorating Class

Just in time for the holidays, you can learn the art of decorating cakes that express your creativity and make special events and celebrations more memorable.

Ashland Community and Technical College has partnered with Goodwill Industries of KYOWVA, Inc. to offer a five-week course in professional cake decorating. The course will be held Thursdays, Oct. 20 to Nov. 17, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at ACTCs College Drive Campus.

The hands-on course will teach area residents to prepare, decorate and complete original cake designs. Participants will develop skills in making flowers and leaves, writing, and working with icing colors. Those who complete the course will have the basic skills needed to launch a career in cake decorating or to make fun and exciting cakes for friends and family.

Chef Denzel Norwich, the instructor, is currently Goodwills hospitality instructor. He has over 17 years of teaching experience and is a certified Wilton instructor with a degree in culinary arts from the Pittsburgh School of Art. He has taughte has community courses in baking as well as professional cake decorating eith icing and fondant.
