Presentation on "My Mother's Songs"

ACTC History Professor Ernie Tucker will present My Mothers Songs Saturday, April 9, at 1:00 p.m. at Greenbo State Resort Park. His grandmother was born slightly before the Civil War and grew up as a farmers wife with former slaves as neighbors. They taught his grandmother their songs, and she in turn taught them to his mother who sang them to him and his siblings as children.

He will include these songs and others, stories about them, and direct audience participation. Professor Tucker is a speaker with the Kentucky Humanities Council Speakers Bureau.
