New Website for Local Businesses Job Seekers

3StateJobs.com, a web site specifically for Tri-State employers and job seekers, is now on line. The non-profit website is a joint venture of Ashland Community and Technical College and several area Chambers of Commerce.

Our goal is to provide small to mid-size businesses with a professional, cost-effective website to advertise their hiring needs, said Dr. Greg Adkins, ACTC President and CEO. The site will help our students and others seeking employment to connect with local businesses.

Participants to date are the Ashland Alliance, the Grayson Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Lawrence County, Ohio, Chamber of Commerce. The joint college and chamber venture offers advantages to both participating businesses and job seekers.

For businesses, the site is a free service provided through their Chamber of Commerce, and it reaches the local, readily available workforce. For job seekers, the site provides a free search for local jobs only, without the need to sift through numerous listings of jobs outside the area.

The site provides job search options by employment category, part-time or full-time, experience required and education level.

Initial funding for development of 3StateJobs was provided by ACTC. The college will cover site maintenance and promotional costs for up to two years or until the site becomes self-supporting. ACTC is also providing training to chamber members so that they can post and change job listings as needed.

Each participating chamber has agreed to market the free service to members, participate in assessment meetings and maintain lists of qualified members.

Future support will be provided through a combination of grant funding, chamber funding and revenue from advertising by selected vendors.

For more information on using the site, businesses can contact their local chamber. For information on the site design and purpose, contact Jessica Lucas, ACTC Workforce Solutions Specialist, at 606.326.2238 or email: jlucas0013@kctcs.edu.
