June 9 is Youth Camp Registration Day
On June 9, ACTC Lifelong Learning will hold a special Registration Day for Summer Youth Camps. Registration is from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Roberts Drive Campus. For more information, call 606-326-2072 or email: as_LLL@kctcs.edu.
College Camp for ages six to 13 offers one-hour classes in art, acting, science, Spanish, writing, and special interests such as taking care of a horse and building bridges. Camp will be held June 25 to 29 from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., and each one hour class is $35.
The Hyper Peppy Robotics Camp gives students ages six to 13 the chance to build robots as they learn about technology and engineering through hands-on activities. The Camp will be held July 9 to 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and the $150 fee includes materials for the robot.
Make It and Take It Home Science Projects for youth ages six to 13 includes projects such as a crystal tree, an energy bead bracelet, an electric motor, silly putty, glowing goo and green flubber. This camp is from July 9 to 13, from 12:45 to 3:45 p.m., and the fee is $150.
Math Camp on June 11 to 15 includes deciphering mystery messages, solving riddles, running a business, planning a rescue mission to another planet and helping the tooth fairy plan a budget. Classes are 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. for second and third graders and 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. for fourth and fifth graders. The fee is $15.
Team Advanced Survival Course (T.A.S.C.) for youth ages 10 to 15 includes emergency scenarios in which students learn the first aid, navigation, and basic survival skills. T.A.S.C. will be held July 16 to 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and the fee is $125.
ACTC also offers Camp Invention for children entering first through sixth grades. The nationally acclaimed program encourages children to discover the fun of science by creating their own inventions, using magnetism, building machines and designing new games. The camp will be held June 18 to 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The fee is $120, and registration is online at campinvention.org.
