People who want to prepare for promotions, better jobs or new careers while continuing their regular work schedule can go online for a wide variety of professional skills and certifications.

Ashland Community and Technical Collegepartners with Ed2Go and The Center for Legal Studies to offer a online courses designed to develop professional interests and skills.

Ed2Go training can begin anytime and participants can set their own pace. More than 100 Ed2Go career training programs are offered in the following area; Healthcare amp; Fitness, Business, IT and Software Development, Management, Media and Design, Hospitality and Service Industries, Skilled Trades and Industrial, and Sustainable Energy and Going Green.

Some of the programs offer online certification, some help prepare people for industry certification exams and others provide continuing education credit recognized by professional organizations.

Career choices include Wedding Planner, Personal Fitness Trainer, Interior Designer, Event Manager, Home Inspector, Pharmaceutical Representative, Chartered Tax Professional, Freight Broker, Grant Writing, Bookkeeping, Floral Design and Sigma Black Belt Certification. Some of these courses would be appropriate for people wanting to start a home business.

The Center for Legal Studies offers certificate courses in Paralegal, Legal Secretary and Legal Investigation as well as Software Essentials and Personal Injury for paralegals. The fall session for legal Studies courses begins Oct. 20 and ends Dec. 5.
