Ghost Story Author Will Visit ACTC

Author Roberta Simpson Brown will talk about her latest collection of ghost stories, Campfire Tales Kentucky, Monday, Oct. 21, at noon at the ACTC College Drive Campus Library.

Known to fellow storytellers as the "Queen of the Cold-Blooded Tales, Brown has written many books based on stories about spooks, ghosts and goblins she heard while growing up in Kentucky.

Her latest work, published in 2012 by Schiffer Publishing, includes 32 campfire tales of scary and strange happenings in places from graveyards, woods and fishing holes, to homes and schoolrooms.

Previous work includes The Walking Trees and Other Scary Stories, The Queen of the Cold-Blooded Tales, Scared in School and Lamplight Tale. She wrote Spooky Poems for Kids with her husband Lonnie and Strains of Music with her sister Fatima.

Brown has made appearances nationwide and has performed on radio and television. She has been a featured author at the National Storytelling Festival in Tennessee, the Kentucky Book Fair, and Southern Book Festivals in Nashville and Bowling Green. A retired teacher, she lives in Louisville with her husband.
