GED Push Continues in June
Kentucky residents have two more weeks to take advantage of the free GED test being offered by Kentucky Adult Education (KAE), a unit of the Council on Postsecondary Education.
The usual $55 fee will be waived through June 30 in an effort to encourage more people to take the GED test. Getting a GED can open the door to better jobs and opportunities for higher education
To be eligible to take the GED, students must first successfully complete the GED Official Practice Test to make sure they are prepared for the actual test. The Adult Learning Center located at the ACTC Roberts Drive Campus will give the practice test by appointment on Monday through Thursday during the day or on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
Those who pass the practice test will be able to complete their GED application and make an appointment to take the Official GED Test. For an practice test appointment or more information on GED classes, call the Center at 606-326-2357.
GED Testing
Testing will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 22 and 29 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the ACTC College Drive Campus. There will be no GED tests at ACTC in July.
An appointment is required for both testing and retesting. For an appointment or more information, contact Cara Huff, GED Chief Examiner, at 606-326-2193, 800-928-4256 ext. 62193 or email: cara.huff@kctcs.edu.
