Food Safety Course Can Help Restaurants

ServSafe Food Safety Training and Certification Testing is again offered by ACTC to help food service managers and employees protect their customers, employees and business.

Sponsored by the National Restaurant Association, ServSafe is a national certification program that provides training and certification in safe food handling and serving procedures.

ServSafe is for both managers and food handlers and is recommended by local health departments, according to Peggy Bradley, Associate Professor and Coordinator of ACTCs Culinary Arts Program. Professor Bradley will be the instructor. Training topics include basic food safety, personal hygiene, cross-contamination, time and temperature considerations, cleaning and sanitation.

The class will be held Tuesday, Nov. 26, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the certification exam will be Wednesday, Dec. 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at ACTCs Technology Drive Campus. The $220 fee includes training, textbook and certification testing.
