Children's Theatre Auditions Jan. 7 8
Auditions for the ACTC Childrens Theatre production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will be held Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 7 and 8, at 4:00 p.m. in the J. B. Sowards Theatre at the College Drive Campus.
The Biblical saga of Joseph and his coat of many colors comes to life in this musical parable. The music by Andrew Lloyd Weber and lyrics by Tim Rice present an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to bubble-gum pop and rock 'n' roll.
Roles are available for third through twelfth grade students. Those auditioning will sing and read from the script, with no advance preparation required. All children auditioning must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Additional performance information will be given at 4:00 p.m. during a short meeting with the children and a special mandatory meeting with the parents.
Karen Curnutte will be the director, Lynette Muncy will be the choreographer, and the production will feature a live orchestra. Rehearsals will be held weekdays after school, and performances are February 21 to 24.
