Children's Theatre Auditions are Jan. 3 4
Auditions for the ACTC Childrens Theatre production of G2K Cinderella will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 3 and 4, at 4:00 p.m. in the J. B. Sowards Theatre at the College Drive Campus.
Approximately 40 roles are available for third through ninth grade students. Those auditioning will sing and read from the script, with no advance preparation required. All children auditioning must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Additional performance information will be given at 4:00 p.m. during a short meeting with the children and a special mandatory meeting with the parents
In this Getting to Know (G2K) adaptation for youthful performers and audiences, all
the familiar songs and characters are present. Cinderella, the stepmother, stepsisters, fairy godmother and prince come to life with
the lyrics by Richard Rogers and book and music by Oscar Hammerstein II.
Karen Curnutte will be the director. Rehearsals will be held from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Public performances are Friday to Sunday, Feb. 17 to 19. Matinees for area school children are Wednesday to Friday, Feb. 15 to 17.
Childrens Theatre is an educational experience for third through ninth grade students. The young singers and actors are enrolled in a class offered through ACTC Lifelong Learning, and the fee is $125.
