Chautauqua Program on Rosemary Clooney

ACTC will present Rosemary Clooney: A Sentimental Journey Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 12 noon at the Technology Drive Campus.

The free presentation follows Rosemary from her birth in Maysville, Kentucky in 1928, to her singing days in Cincinnati with her sister Betty to her life as a star. She recorded with Bing Crosby, Gene Autry, Nelson Riddle, Frank Sinatra, Marlene Dietrich and Bob Hope. She starred on television and several movies, the most famous of which was White Christmas.

Later in life, Clooney suffered some personal setbacks but staged a comeback the last 70s and continued her singing career until her death in 2002.

Presenter Bet Stewart is the artistic director of Intuition Theatre in Cincinnati. She has participated in the Kentucky Arts Councils Arts in Education program, served as an artist-on-tour for the Ohio Arts Council, an artist in schools for the Kentucky Center for the Arts.
