Career Transitions Scholarship for Spring

Ashland Community and Technical College has extended its Career Transitions initiative through the 2010 spring semester. The Kentucky Community and Technical College System initiative is designed to help Kentucky residents who have lost their jobs get work-force training in high-growth, high-wage fields.

The program offered through ACTC and the other KCTCS colleges features a 50 percent tuition scholarship for up to six hours per semester in open enrollment courses. It also provides each displaced Kentucky worker with personalized assistance to help navigate the college admissions process.

Kentucky residents who have become unemployed and who have filed for unemployment benefits since Oct. 1, 2008 are eligible. The transitions scholarship program is another avenue for financial aid available to new students.
