Ashland Community and Technical College showed off its Mobile Technology Lab during the Ashland Alliance’s monthly Business After Hours event on April 11 at the Roberts Drive Campus.

The MTL is an interactive traveling classroom that showcases a variety of STEM technologies, such as 3-D printers, laser engravers and drones. Alliance members toured the lab and tried their hands at using 3-D pens and virtual reality headsets. Guests were also able to see the lab’s 3-D printer in action, as well as a Raspberry Pi computer.

“Our Mobile Technology Lab crew enjoyed demonstrating the future of technology in education and the workplace, said Karen Coburn, director of Workforce Solutions. “ACTC has a long standing partnership with the Ashland Alliance and we always appreciate their enthusiastic support of our efforts to encourage new avenues of education.”

The college has been a member of the Alliance since 1984. Tim Gibbs, president and CEO of the Ashland Alliance said, “Anytime we get a chance to highlight our partners, we love this. That’s what we’re about. It’s about the school and what the school can do.”
