Three ACTC students have won prizes in the 2014 Commit to Prevent Child Sexual Abuse Art amp; Poetry Contest.

Chelsea M. Morris from Catlettsburg won the $100 First Place Award. Ashland residents Heather N. Miller and Miranda G. Parsons won the $50 Second Place Award and $25 Third Place Award respectively. All three students have been in drawing classes taught by ACTC Associate Professor Wendy Fosterwelsh.

The contest was intended to foster awareness of the need to prevent child sexual abuse. Entries depicting what the subject meant to the artists and writers were judged on creativity, originality and artistic quality. Prizes were presented during the FIVCO Family Fun Festival on March 8 in Ashland.
