Apply by August 4 for ACTC's Fall Semester

If you want to attend ACTC this fall, now is the time to get the admissions process out of the way. The application deadline is Monday, August 4, and classes start Monday, August 18.

Application forms are available on the web at ashland.kctcs.edu and may be submitted online or by mail to the Admissions Office at the College Drive Campus or the Technology Drive Campus.

Applicants will also need to submit an official copy of their high school diploma or GED transcript, transcripts from other colleges or universities attended, and ACT score if available.

Part of the admissions process is an orientation session that includes placement testing. Orientation sessions are scheduled after the applications are processed, and several sessions will be held in July. After orientation, applicants will meet with an advisor and register for class.

ACTC Financial Aid

People who want to start at ACTC this fall will find that college is more affordable than they might have thought.

In-state tuition for Fall Semester 2014 is $147 per credit hour, a lower rate than at other colleges and universities in the area. In-state rates are available to Ohio residents of Adams, Athens, Gallia, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Pike, Scioto and Vinton counties, and West Virginia residents of Cabell, Mingo and Wayne counties.

Once youve completed the admission process and are in degree, diploma or certificate status, you can apply for financial aid. Financial aid for fall is still available to those who qualify on the basis of financial need, and many ACTC students qualify.

The main forms of aid for ACTC students are the Federal Pell Grant which generally do not have to be re-paid and Federal Work study which pays students at least the federal minimum wage for jobs on campus.

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, the only form required for most federal and state aid programs, is online at fafsa.gov and ACTC forms are available at: ashland.kctcs.edu.

To apply for financial aid as a new student, individuals must have completed the admission process and be in degree, certificate or diploma status. Applicants must also be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen and be registered with the Selective Service as required.

For questions on the FAFSA or financial aid assistance, call 1-855-246-2282 or go to ACTC help[BROKEN LINK].

A tuition payment plan is also available at ACTC. The plan provides for three payments. For details, contact the above phone number.
