ACTC Theatre Presents" Wuthering Heights The Musical"

Ashland Community and Technical College Theatre will present Wuthering Heights, The Musical Fridays and Saturdays, April 8, 9, 15 and 16 at 8:00 p.m. and Sundays, April 10 and 17, at 2:30 p.m.

Emily Brontes masterpiece is a story about the unrequited love between Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw. Composer and lyricist Bernard J. Taylor has captured the spirit of Wuthering Heights with a musical adaptation that is dynamic, dramatic and charged with emotion.

Blaine Roberts, a sophomore at Raceland-Worthington High School, is Heathcliff and Lauren Saltsman, a junior at Greenup County High School, is Cathy. ACTC Theatre major Alana Mullins from Russell is the narrator Nellie, and ACTC Associate Professor and Director of Theatre Edward Figgins is Hindley.

The cast of 25 also includes Michael Sammons, a fourth grader at Oakview Elementary, Tessa Leibee, a first grader at Russell Primary; Lincoln Kilgore, a seventh grader at W. R. Castle Elementary in Wittensville, ACTC student Troy Hall from Ashland, Ashland resident Jake Leibee, a respiratory therapist; ACTC Interactive Specialist Roger Hagley; and Anna Baker, a Kentucky Christian College student from Catlettsburg.

Professor Figgins is also the director and scenic/lighting designer. Kathy Saltsman, a Greenup County Schools music teacher is musical director and assistant director. Eric Akers, Middle School Orchestra Conductor for Cabell County Schools, is the orchestra director. Ashland resident Paula Krepsik is the costume designer. ACTC Professor Emeritus of Music Max Jackson is the accompanist.

Performances are in the J. B. Sowards Theatre at the College Drive Campus. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students, seniors and groups of ten or more. Tickets can be reserved with a major credit card through the Bookstore, 606-326-2014. Unreserved tickets will be available at the door, cash or check payment only, for each performance.
