ACTC Students on KCTCS All-Academic Team

ACTC students Eric R. Mohebbian and David M. Walker have beenselected to the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) All-Academic Team for 2014.

All-Academic Team Awards recognize students for their excellence in academics throughout the year. The awards were presented at the KCTS New Horizons Conference May 20 in Owensboro, KY.

Eric R. Mohebbian, a Wheelersburg resident, is working on an Associate in Arts degree. He will graduate in August and plans to transfer to Marshall University to major in psychology. His goal is to earn a PhD in psychology and become a college professor at the university level and possible conduct research as well.

Mohebbian is a 2012 graduate of Wheelersburg High School. He has been on the Dean's list every semester,with a 4.0 grade point average. At ACTC he tutored English for three semesters and was a Supplemental Instructor (SI) leader in college algebra and general psychology. SI leaders help students who are taking historically difficult courses.

David M. Walker, a Grayson resident, is working on a double major in Chemical Plant Operations and Power Plant Operations in the Applied Process Technologies Program. A 2002 East Carter High School graduate, he worked as a boilermaker before starting at ACTC. He plans to graduate in December 2014 and seek a high-skilled job in chemical or power plant operations.

Walker is a Deans List student and a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He tutors physics, chemistry and math students in the Student Support Services Program. Im surprising myself with what I can do, he said. I had the ability in high school and didnt care. Now I am working for my future.
