ACTC Spring Registration Jan. 7-11

Ashland Community and Technical College will hold Spring Semester Registration January 7 to 11.

Hundreds of courses are offered this spring in subjects ranging from accounting to welding, and many classes are offered online or in the evenings to provide options for people with busy schedules.

ACTC students can prepare for immediate employment upon graduation in more 100 high demand careers. Choices include certificate, diploma and associate degree programs in business and education, health care, public service fields, and manufacturing, industrial and transportation technologies.

Students can also prepare for transfer into bachelor degree programs at four-year colleges and universities. ACTC graduates with an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science Degree can transfer to their chosen institution as a junior.

The application deadline for spring semester classes is January 7. Applications are on the web at ashland.kctcs.edu and may be submitted online. Applicants will also need to submit an official copy of their high school transcript or GED, transcripts from other colleges or universities attended, and ACT score if available. For more information, call the Admissions Office, 606-326-2000, after January 6.

In-state Spring Semester tuition for new students is $140 per credit hour, a lower rate than at other colleges and universities in the area. In-state rates are available to Ohio residents of Adams, Athens, Gallia, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Pike, Scioto and Vinton counties, and West Virginia residents of Cabell, Mingo and Wayne counties.

Federal Pell Grants are available for those who qualify. New students can submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available at fafsa.gov, to see if they qualify.
