ACTC Parking Lot Construction
Parking lot construction at the Ashland Community and Technical College Campus will continue for the next several weeks.
The upper lot adjacent to the Administration and Library buildings is being upgraded to provide safer entry and exit to Ramey Street. Originally planned to be completed in time for fall classes, the project hit a snag when trenches were dug in order to reroute electrical lines.
The trenches uncovered coal, and the coal has to be removed before the parking lot can be completed. This process will add several weeks to the project completion time.
Classes start August 16. During the construction project, ample parking will be available for students and visitors in the two other lots located at the College Drive Campus: the lot off Oakview Drive behind the college and the lot near the corner of Oakview and Ramey Street.
We regret any inconvenience the construction will cause to our students, employees and visitors, said Dr. Gregory Adkins, ACTC President and CEO. When completed, the new lot will provide a safer environment for everyone coming to the campus.
