ACTC-OU Agreement Will Help Transfer Students

Ashland Community and Technical College and Ohio University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to expand opportunities for transfer students.

Projects will include development of transfer articulation agreements for OU Southern programs in RN-BNS, Bachelor of Criminal Justice, Bachelor of Specialized Studies, Bachelor of Science in Applied Management and Bachelor of Technical and Applied Studies.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Deb Gearhart, OU Provost of eLearning and Strategic Partnerships; Dr. Dan Evans, Interim Dean at the OU Southern Campus; Dr. Kay Adkins, ACTC President and CEO; and Dr. Janie Kitchen, ACTC Dean of Academic Affairs.

This collaboration with OU will provide our students with additional options for continuing their education in the region, said Dr. Adkins. By giving students new options for continuing their education close to home, we help them achieve their goals

OU and ACTC have been working together for years, and this is another step forward in serving our region, said Dr. Evans. The articulation agreements will make is easier for students to understand what they need for transfer.

OU and ACTC are part of a Kentucky/Ohio Tuition Reciprocity Agreement that provides in-state tuition privileges to residents of seven Kentucky counties and nine Ohio counties that border the Ohio River. Reciprocity allows ACTC students to attend OU at in-state tuition rates.
