ACTC Offers Technical Programs for Good Jobs

Even though good jobs increasingly require post-high school training, many don't require a four-year degree. Many programs leading to well-paying jobs can be completed at Ashland Community and Technical in two years or less.

These technical programs can prepare graduates for jobs paying $15 to $25 per hour or more. Even better, these programs are in fields that will always be needed in society and will continue to have openings as more and more baby boomers retire.

Programs include Applied Process Technologies with Chemical Plant and Power Plant Operator option, Air Conditioning/HVAC, Automotive, Construction, Diesel, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, Lineman, Machine Tool, Welding and the programs described below.

Area residents who want to start classes in these programs in January must complete and submit an application before December 30. Applications are on the web at ashland.kctcs.edu and may be submitted online. When ACTC opens on January 6 after the holiday break, applicants can contact the Advising Office or the program instructors about what classes to take.
