ACTC Offers Robotics Camp for Youth

This Introduction to Robotics Camp will give students ages nine to fourteen a solid understanding of robotics through hands-on activities that explore NASA robotics and Lego Mindstorms NXT-G.

Participants will explore robots as programmable machines that sense and interact with their environment. As they learn about robotics technology, students will also develop problem solving skills and technological literacy, and the camp can encourage development of literacy, math and interpersonal skills.

Instructor John Bentley, II is an Information Technology (IT) Instructor at Collins Career Center, an Adjunct IT Instructor at ITT Technical Institute, and a coach for the LEGO Raiders with the First Lego League.

The Camp will meet Saturdays, April 26 to May 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Roberts Drive Campus. The cost is $79, and enrollment is limited to ten students on a first come basis. To register, go to: http://ws.kctcs.edu/ashland/ or call 606-326-2072.
