ACTC Offers Playwriting Course

A playwriting course at Ashland Community and Technical College this fall will help students and aspiring authors/playwrightsdevelop their creative writing skills.

Creative Writing: Playwriting (ENG 207) provides instruction for beginners in the craft of writing monologues and short plays. The class will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., and the best writings from the class will be presented in ACTCs Festival of One-Act Plays in March. Students must have taken English 101 before registering for this class.

Instructor Jonathan Joy has written more than 25 plays, and his plays have been produced in twelve states, including Off-Broadway stages in New York City, and overseas in Dubai and France.His work has been featured in the New York Times,Southern Theatre magazine, Insight for Playwrights magazine, and several theatre books.
