ACTC Offers Grant Writing Workshops

Grant money often makes the difference in how well an organization can complete its mission. Two workshops at Ashland Community and Technical College are designed to help community, educational and philanthropic organizations find and secure grant money.

Administrators, grant writers and program directors will learn to search for grants that meet their needs and to write proposals that get the attention of grant makers. The workshops are taught by ACTCs Director of Grants, Sarah Diamond Burroway. She is a certified Grants Specialist and Grants Evaluator and has successfully written millions of dollars in grant proposals since 1998.

Each workshop is held on a Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the College Drive Campus. The workshop fee is $29 apiece or $45 for both. Enroll through ACTC Lifelong Learning, 606-326-2072, 800-928-4256 ext. 62072 or email: as_LLL@kctcs.edu.

The Hunt for Big Grants on April 25 is for organizations that need to find a large grant quickly.
Where do you search? How do you find a grant that will meet the needs of your organization? How do you stay updated on new grant announcements? Participants will learn where and how to navigate for free grants resources on the Internet.

Writing Strong/Getting Grants on May 2 will help organizations compete for grants with strong, compelling proposals. Participants will learn to write problem statements, goals and objectives and will practice hands-on writing exercises designed to boost the power of even the toughest proposal.
