ACTC Offers French, Grammar and ACT Prep Classes

ACT Preparation
High school students can get ready for the ACT college entrance test in a 16-hour class designed to help overcome test anxiety and improve test-taking skills.
Participants will go over ACT type questions, learn test-taking tips, review English grammar and punctuation, and practice working arithmetic and geometry problems.
The class will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, Aug. 16 to Sept. 8, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The fee is $95, and students will need to purchase Barons Preparation for the ACT.
Beginning French
Start learning basic words and phrases in a Beginning French class held Tuesdays, Aug. 23 to Sept. 27, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Participants will learn time, numbers and vocabulary for making introductions, asking and receiving directions, making reservations, using public transportation, shopping, ordering in restaurants and making new friends. The fee is $45 plus book.
English Grammar to Get Ahead
English Grammar-A Practical Approach is a six-hour class to help people improve their workplace communication skills, speak with confidence and improve their report or resume writing abilities.
English instructor Trina Litteral will review the basic of grammar and punctuation for polished communication. The class will meet from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Mondays, Aug.22 to Sept. 19, with no class on Labor Day, Sept. 5.The fee is $35.
