ACTC Offers Financial Aid for Spring 2011
People who want to start at Ashland Community and Technical College this spring will find that college is more affordable than they might have thought.
In-state tuition for Spring Semester 2011 is $130 per credit hour, a lower rate than at other colleges and universities in the area. In-state rates are available to Ohio residents of Adams, Athens, Gallia, Jackson, Lawrence, Meigs, Pike, Scioto and Vinton counties, and West Virginia residents of Cabell, Mingo and Wayne counties.
Federal Pell Grants are available for students who qualify, and many ACTC students qualify. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the only form required for most federal and state aid programs.
The FAFSA can be submitted electronically over the Internet through the web site at fafsa.gov, and ACTC forms are available on the web at ashland.kctcs.edu.
After filling out the FAFSA, applicants should complete their financial aid file in the Financial Aid Office, Room 223 at the College Drive Campus or Room156 at the Technology Drive Campus.
To apply for financial aid as a new student, individuals must have completed the admission process and be in degree, certificate or diploma status. Applicants must also be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen and be registered with the Selective Service as required. Aid is awarded on the basis of financial need.
A tuition payment plan is available that lets students pay tuition in three payments. For details, contact Anna Tolliver, Administrative Assistant in Human Resources, at 606-326-2088.
For more information on your financial aid options at ACTC or help with the FAFSA, call the Office of Financial Aid, 606-326-2198 or 800-928-4256 ext. 62198.
Spring Semester classes will start January 10, 2011, and January 3 is the application deadline. Admission forms are available on the web at: ashland.kctcs.edu.
