ACTC Offers Computer Classes for Businesses

Hands-on computer workshops are designed by ACTC Workforce Solutions to help businesses and their employees maximize their computer productivity. Workshops are held at the Roberts Drive Campus, and each workshop is $45 per participant.

In Computer Basics amp; File Management on Wednesday, Oct. 5, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, participants will learn how to make a computer work for them instead of the other way around. Topics include an introduction to computer terminology, software and hardware, managing and customizing desktop icons and computer settings, and creating and managing folders and files. These organization and management tips can save time and put needed information easily accessible.

In Microsoft Word on Wednesday, Oct. 5, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., participants will learn how to make their daily computer tasks easier. Topics include ways to create, edit, format, save and print documents as well as how to change font styles, sizes, colors, bullets and numbering features. Word features can give impact and importance to reports, memos, letters and flyers.

In Microsoft Excel on Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 9:00 a.m. to noon, participants will learn to create, format and edit excel spreadsheets; use simple mathematical calculations and functions to manipulate data; merge data; and use the fill handle and other basic functions. In addition to creating and maintaining financial and customer information spreadsheets, Excel can help businesses measure progress, analyze results and forecast trends.

Microsoft Powerpoint is offered on Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Participants will learn how to create powerful and memorable presentations that communicate clearly and effectively, with maximum impact. Topics include developing, formatting and modifying presentations and adding visual elements such as clip art and pictures.
