ACTC Offers ACT Prep for High School Students

High school students can get ready for the ACT college entrance test in a 16-hour class designed to help overcome test anxiety and improve test-taking skills.

The ACT is accepted by almost all colleges and universities in the United States. It is often used in admissions decisions, sometimes helps with class placement, and may be used as a qualifier for merit scholarships. Familiarity with the test and review of weaker subject areas can sometimes help students improve their test score.

In this class, participants will go over ACT type questions, learn test-taking tips, review English grammar and punctuation and practice working arithmetic and geometry problems. The instructors are Jason Shields, ACTC Information Systems Developer and David Pack, a former ACTC adjunct English instructor.

The class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, Oct. 1 to Oct 24, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Roberts Drive Campus. The fee is $99, and students will need to purchase Barons Preparation for the ACT. Enroll through ACTC External Education, 606.326.2072 or email: as_ce@kctcs.edu.
