ACTC Hosts KY Ghost Story Authors
Authors Roberta Simpson Brown and Lonnie E. Brown will be at Ashland Community and Technical College November 9 to talk about their new book, Spookiest Stories Ever: Four Seasons of Kentucky Ghosts.
Its Halloween all year around for those who truly love ghost stories. Spookiest Stories Ever incorporates tales from all four seasons, where the paranormal lives on in the rebirth in the spring, the heat of the summer, the changes of autumn and the winter cold.
Sprinkled with references to familiar Kentucky landmarks, the stories expose the skeletons in the closets of the Commonwealth, from Jefferson County to Ghent, Louisville, Mammoth Cave and Shaker Village.
The stories reflect personal and reported real-life encounters with the paranormal. Filled with incidents of murder and suicide, suffering patients, vanishing hitchhikers and other ghostly entities, the compilation shows that human desires for love, justice and revenge are capable of transcending the grave.
Roberta Brown is a retired teacher and the author of The Walking Trees and Other Scary Stories, Queen of the Cold-Blooded Tales, and Scared in School. Lonnie E. Brown is a musician and author of Stories You Wont Believe.
Spookiest Stories Ever: Four Seasons of Kentucky Ghosts is the first collaborative effort by the husband and wife team who grew up in Russell Springs, KY and now reside in Louisville. The book was published by University Press of Kentucky in October 2010.
The Browns will talk about their ghostly experiences and sign copies of their book on Tuesday, Nov. 9. from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. in the ACTC College Drive Campus Library. For more information, contact Director of Library Services Matt Onion, 606-326-2113 or email: matthew.onion@kctcs.edu
