ACTC Golf Scramble Raises $20,000 for Scholarships
The Ashland Community and Technical College Golf Scramble on October 12 raised approximately $20,000 for the scholarship fund administered by Community and Technical College Foundation of Ashland, Inc.
This was a great day, said Dr. Bruce Shaffer, Golf Scramble Chair. The weather was perfect, the players had a good time, and we raised a significant amount to help students attend our college.
Corporate sponsors were American Electric Power and Eagle Distributing. There were 39 hole sponsors and 19 teams. Team winners were 1st place -Veolia Environmental Services; 2nd Place - McKenzie, Woolery amp; Webb P.S.C.; 3rd Place - Marathon Petroleum; 4th Place Kings Daughters Medical Center.
Individual awards went to David Ferrell from the Town Square Bank team for Longest Drive, Debbie Lewis from a Putnam Agency Team for Closest to the Pin on Hole 3 and Bill Washburn from the Veolia Environment Services Team for Closest to the Pin on Hole 12.
This was our second annual golf event, and were already planning for next year, said Dr. Kay Adkins, ACTC President and CEO. The support from our community has been outstanding, and it is a pleasure to be working with so many people who support student access to higher education.
