ACTC Gets Top College Ratings

Ashland Community and Technical College has received national recognition as one of the top two-year colleges in the country.

Community College Week has listed ACTC as a Top 100 two-year institution in number of one-year certificates awarded. ACTC awarded 948 one-year certificates in the 2013-14 academic year, and this is the third consecutive year that the college was listed in the one-year certificate category.

ACTC was also listed as a Top 50 two-year institution in the number of associate degrees awarded for science technologies/technicians. ACTC has received this recognition for several years, and is the only Kentucky college on the list.

It is rewarding to receive these recognitions of our success in serving students, said Dr. Kay Adkins, ACTC President and CEO. Each credential represents a student achievement in attaining knowledge and skills that can be used for life.

The Community College Week ratings published August 31, 2015 were based on the number of credentials and degrees awarded in the 2013-14 academic year by nearly 4,000 two-year institutions.The ratings recognize the focus by government, businesses and educators on increasing the number of college graduates who are prepared for the current and future workforce.
