ACTC Faculty and Staff Assume New Positions
Several Ashland Community and Technical College employees have assumed new positions effective July 1.
Dr. Keith Brammell has become Acting Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. An Associate Professor, he was previously Division Chair of Math and Science. A Grayson resident, he has been with the college since 1999. He has a DMD degree from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry.
Nicole Griffith-Green, Associate Professor of Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, has become the Chair of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Division. A Catlettsburg resident, she joined the college in 2005. She has a Masters Degree in Biology from Morehead State University.
Dr. Carol Greene, Professor and former Coordinator of Distance Learning, has become Chair of the Humanities Division. An Ashland resident, she started at ACTC in 1985 in a Library position. Her Ph.D. in English is from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Professor Amy Poteet has become the Coordinator of Distance Learning. She was formerly Chair of the Humanities Division. An Ashland resident, she started at the college in 1989. She has a Masters degree from Morehead State University and is working on a doctorate in Educational Policy Studies and Evaluation at the University of Kentucky.
Brandon Brown has been promoted to Assistant Director of Financial Aid. An Ashland resident and Russell High School graduate, he began at ACTC in 2009. He has a Bachelors Degree in Business Management at Asbury College.
Dr. Barbara Walters, ACTC Professor Emeritus, will serve as the Director of the new ACTC Annual Science and Engineering Fair. An Ashland resident, she received her doctorate in Educational Policy Studies amp; Evaluation from the University of Kentuck y. She retired from the college in 2006 and has since served on special projects such as developing a curriculum for the STEM early college high school.
The inaugural Science and Engineering Fair is scheduled for March 2013 at the Roberts Drive Campus. Open to all FIVCO area schools, the fair will utilize the guidelines of the International Science and Engineering Fair.
