Free Presentation on Education for a Global Economy

Helping educators keep up with changing times is the purpose of a free program at Ashland Community and Technical College on Thursday, Aug. 6, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the College Drive Campus.

Teaching amp; Learning in Exponential Times: How the Global Economy Impacts Education addresses the issue of education in an era when the boundaries of the worlds economy are shrinking. Global issues that impact our society at every level also affect education. Educators must adapt to those changes.

Presenter Mark Snyder is Chief Executive Officer of MSA Consulting Group, a Microsoft Partner company that specializes in research-based technology training for businesses and educational institutions.

He will offer a global perspective of education and competition that focuses on the future of workforce education in the U.S. Are we keeping up with technology? If so, are we using it as a method of supporting students inquisitiveness? Are we integrating 21st century technological skills that will ensure the success of todays digital generation?

His presentation will include a framework for preparing students to be productive knowledge workers in a challenging economy.

Snyder works with Fortune 500 companies and state boards of education on workforce training, staff development, and productivity issues related to the integration of new technology.

He has contributed to numerous books and journal articles on the integration of computers and related technologies into the workplace. He has written over 100 application manuals and is a reviewer and evaluator of hardware and software for companies such as Microsoft, Dell, Oracle, IBM and Adobe.
