Two fitness classes start this month at ACTC for people who want to try something beyond basic exercises and dance routines. The fee for each class is $25, and classes are held at the Roberts Drive Campus. The instructor is fitness trainer Oreatha Claborn. Kickboxing will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, Aug. 28 to Oct. 11 from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m. Kickboxing burns calories and provides a full body, cardiovascular workout. Participants will improve their flexibility and build strength through punches, jabs, and kicks.
Tone Up will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, Aug. 28 to Oct. 11 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. This class combines resistance training with weight bearing exercises. Participants will work each large muscle group, building muscle endurance with high repetitions of low weight routines. Participants are asked to provide their own mats.
