A "Genealogy the Basics and Beyond" class at Ashland Community and Technical College will help participants learn to document their family history.
Lori Shafer, Adult Service Librarian from Briggs Lawrence County Public Library, will share techniques used to research a family tree, gather and record information, use online data bases, conduct family interviews and document the sources used during research. By the end of the class, participants will be able to fill out a family group sheet and ancestry chart.
Students should bring a large 3-ring binder to class. Other supplies will be provided. The class meets Saturdays, Sept. 22 to Oct. 6, from10:00 a.m. to noon at the Roberts Drive Campus.
