Ashland Community and Technical College will recognize a record number of 520 students at the Graduation Ceremony Saturday, May 14, at 10:00 a.m. in the Paramount Arts Center.
The students to be honored are August 2010 graduates, December 2010 graduates or May 2011 graduation candidates. Many have earned more than one degree, diploma or certificate, and a total of 1301 credentials will be awarded.
The guest speaker will be Tanya Pullin, Representative of the 98th District in the Kentucky House of Representatives. The student speaker will be Cheryl A. Cook, a Catlettsburg resident who is graduating with an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education with high honors.
A Distinguished Alumnus Award will be presented to Kristie Whitlatch, Senior Vice President of Service Line Development at Kings Daughters Medical Center. A Distinguished Service Award will be presented to Ashland residents Dr. Michael J. and Mrs. Dana Goodwin. Bennie J. Shields, a retired teacher and Ashland resident, will receive a Special Recognition Award.
The ceremony is free and open to the public.
