Ashland Community and Technical College (ACTC) held its inaugural college advisory council meeting on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026.
The council, established as a result of recent state legislation, is made up of community and industry partners, as well as ACTC leadership and faculty and staff representation.
House Bill 619 led to the dissolution of the board of directors at all KCTCS colleges. Newly established college advisory council will maintain regional representation.
“We’re proud to continue our partnership with so many of our stakeholders,” said college chancellor Dr. Larry Ferguson. “These individuals believe in the work that we do and consistently support our mission. We appreciate their willingness to serve in this new capacity.”
During the meeting, Ferguson introduced KCTCS college advisory council bylaws and the committee council nominated and selected officers.
John Stewart will serve as chair and Ann Perkins will serve as vice chair.
Ferguson reviewed the college’s operation plan for 2026-2030 and various leaders at the college updated the council on their respective departments.
The next meeting of ACTC’s college advisory council is set for Thursday, May 6, 2027.
